Sky and Warner Bros. extend multi-year content and platform agreement

Sky (ASX:SKT) and Warner Bros. Discovery have extended their multi-year content and platform agreement, confirming Sky as the home of HBO, Max Originals, Warner Bros. and Discovery for New Zealand audiences.

The $316.47 million market capitalisation company says the agreement includes channel and content rights, spanning thousands of hours of some of the world’s most ‘popular’ series and movies.

Commenting on the agreement Sky Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sophie Moloney said: “This renewed deal reflects the long-standing partnership between Sky abd Warner Bros. Discovery, and the continued commitment of both companies to bring Kiwis premium content and brands.

As a business we are making clear, informed choices about the content we want using the deep knowledge we have of our customers’ viewing preferences. Sky’s focus is ensuring audiences have access to the content they love in ways that work best for them.”

Additionally, Warner Bros. Discovery President and Managing Director, Western Pacific, James Gibbons says: “This agreement further deepens Warner Bros. Discovery’s historic partnership with Sky, which has seen great success and growth over the past 2 decades.

As we look to build scale across our diverse portfolio locally, we look forward to continuing to work with Sky as a key partner in bringing Kiwis our world-class storytelling, brands, and franchises.”

Sky is a media and entertainment company distributed across 6 countries, connecting about 23 million customers to entertainment, sports, news, and arts.
