Imricor Medical Systems (ASX:IMR) is activating a new invasive cardiovascular magnetic resonance (iCMR) imaging site in Zagreb, Croatia.
The Clinical Hospital Dubrava has placed an order for Imricor capital equipment, and Imricor is targeting installation for the end of this month.
According to the company, an iCMR lab is an interventional lab fitted with MRI equipment for use in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. The installation of these labs is driven primarily by MRI equipment vendors working collaboratively with Imricor.
Imricor, which has an $87.21 million market capitalisation, says procedures in Croatia are anticipated to begin this quarter.
Under the terms of the procurement contract between Dubrava and Imricor, Dubrava will order 50 procedures worth of consumable product within the next 12 months.
Imricor Medical Systems Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman Steve Wedan says with the clinical market ‘showing signs of opening up once again’, this site will be the company’s first in Croatia.
“While this site is not a dedicated cardiology-owned iCMR lab, they have good MRI capacity and a great partnership between cardiology and radiology, so we do not expect the cases to be limited by the lab’s availability.
“activating sites is a key focus for our European sales team, and Dubrava is the direct result of that focus”
As I noted previously, activating sites is a key focus for our European sales team, and Dubrava is the direct result of that focus. There are a number of additional sites that we expect to activate in the coming months.”
Imricor Medical Systems develops innovative MRI-compatible medical devices that can be used to carry out real-time iCMR cardiac ablation procedures.
