Diversified mining services provider Perenti (ASX:PRN) has made changes to its Group Executive Committee as it works to build ‘capability and capacity’ in its senior leader cohort.
The $984.03 million market capitalisation company says the current President of its Contract Mining Division, Paul Muller, will ascend to a new role within the Executive Committee after a short period of study leave between January and May 2024.
To take Paul’s place, Australian mining veteran Gabrielle Iwanow has agreed to step in as the President of the Contract Mining Division.
According to Perenti, Iwanow represents one of Australia’s leading mining executives and has ‘extensive’ experience working at senior operational and executive levels within the resources sector.
Perenti confirms before joining the company, Iwanow held senior executive positions at ASX 100-listed miner Oz Minerals and mining giant Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO).
Most recently, Iwanow served as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mincor Resources, which delisted from the ASX in July 2023 following its acquisition by Andrew Forrest-owned Wyloo Metals.
Iwanow was named one of the Top 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in 2020.
Perenti MD and CEO Mark Norwell says the appointment of Iwanow delivers additional depth for the company while it works to build on record FY23 financial results as well as execute and develop its 2025 and 2030 strategies, respectively.
“A key strategic focus for the group is managing and developing our senior talent across the organisation, ensuring we have robust succession plans in place and continue building capability and capacity within our senior leader cohort, including within the Group Executive Committee.”
