Comms Group signs 5-year contract with Vodafone to expand services

IT and communications company Comms Group (ASX:CCG) has signed a 5-year agreement with the Vodafone Group’s (LON:VOD) business division Vodafone to expand the range of services provided.

The company reports the agreement will extend the existing supply agreement to include the provision of Microsoft Operator Connect, automation, self-service, and provisioning tools and related services.

Comms Group will deliver zero-touch, self-service provisioning, orchestration, and automation of Microsoft Teams calling using its ‘state-of-the-art’ session-border-controller-as-a-service (SBCaaS) platform and additional platforms.

“[we are] pleased to be able to work alongside them providing the latest generation unified communications services globally”

Vodafone Business will continue to access bespoke Teams Direct Routing deployment services and related services. Additionally, Comms Group will enable the Operator Connect service for Vodafone.

The new supply agreement between the parties will run for a minimum of 5 years. Once this period elapses, the services will be provided on a month-to-month basis and may be terminated by either party with a minimum notice period of 12 months.

Vodafone Business have committed to a minimum monthly charge of around $30,000 from 1 October 2023, and have also identified a pipeline of opportunities of new users over the extended contract period that will add new revenue streams to Comms Group over time.

Comms Group reports initial deployment of the service has begun, and is expected to be completed in June 2023, with user onboarding to begin immediately after.

The deployment of services by Comms Group will be delivered initially to Vodafone Business’ Enterprise team which services multinational corporations as well as Vodafone UK and Germany.

Additional operating entities within the Vodafone Group are expected to sign-on to the service once the initial roll-out is complete. As part of the deployment service, Vodafone Business will be provided with a range of orchestration and automation tools to provide fast turn-up capability to their existing Microsoft Teams UC product portfolio.

Commenting on the agreement, Comms Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Peter McGrath said: “We are delighted to extend and expand our partnership with Vodafone to support Vodafone’s moves into offering the very best unified communications experience globally with extensive coverage to service the world’s largest enterprises.
